Mischa Barton is to be the new face of a safe sun campaign. The British-born actress, who shot to fame in The OC, is to front a campaign by the Institute of Cancer Research and Superdrug.

Mischa will pose for in-store posters and stress the importance of protection from the sun's rays.

The 21-year-old actress said the campaign is omportant to her: "I spend a lot of my life in the sun and know how important it is to be sun aware and protect your skin."
